Short answer: yes. From 1 July 2027, the ATO won’t take your credit card directly, after the Government extended the original 30 November 2026 cutoff. But you can still pay your tax on card through pay.com.au. You pay us by card. We pay the ATO by bank transfer.

    How it works

    1. Sign up. Create a free pay.com.au account with your ABN. You’ll need to be a director or beneficial owner.
    2. Add your card. Visa, Mastercard or Amex.
    3. Pay the ATO. Enter your payment reference number (PRN) and the amount. We send it to the ATO by bank transfer.

That’s it. Your ATO bill is paid. Your points land.

Which ATO payments can I make?

Your business can pay any ATO payment through pay.com.au using credit card, including BAS, PAYG instalments, PAYG withholding, income tax, Alcohol Excises, including Wine equalisation tax (WET), and other ATO debts with a payment reference number.

    Is it secure?

Yes. pay.com.au is PCI DSS compliant and runs on ISO 27001-certified infrastructure. Your card is tokenised, so we never store the full number, and every account uses two-factor authentication. pay.com.au Limited (ACN 639 316 546) also holds an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL no. 700223).
