The questions everyone asks

Does the ATO actually receive my BAS payment?▾

Yes. You pay pay.com.au with your card or bank account, and we remit the full amount to the ATO by bank transfer using your ATO payment reference number. The ATO receives every cent of your BAS. To land by your due date, schedule your payment ahead of time; processing can take up to 2 business days depending on payment method.

Won't the fees just cancel out the points?▾

Run your numbers in the calculator above. At the Plus rate you earn 2 PayRewards per $1 for a 1.8% fee (excl. GST), plus your card's points, plus the campaign bonus, and the fee is typically tax deductible for businesses. Redeemed for flights, points are usually worth well more than the fee costs. Check your situation with your accountant.

Do I earn my card's full points on ATO payments?▾

Yes. Paying through pay.com.au is processed as a normal business purchase on your card, not a government payment, so your card earns at its full rate. A small number of cards have their own exclusions, so it's worth checking your card's terms.

How do I claim the bonus points?▾

Sign up, then pay your BAS (and any other ATO or supplier payments) through pay.com.au during the campaign window. Your total payments set your bonus tier, from 5,000 points at $10,000 up to 300,000 points at $1,000,000+. Bonus points are issued after the campaign per the terms.^{^}

How long does signing up take?▾

About 3 minutes. You'll need your ABN. It's free, there's no lock-in, and you don't need to add a card until you make your first payment.

What else can I pay through pay.com.au?▾

Any business expense: suppliers, payroll, super, rent, insurance, marketing. Recipients are paid by bank transfer and don't need to be pay.com.au customers. Every payment earns, and every payment counts towards your bonus tier during the campaign.

1. This offer begins at 00:00 AET, 27th July, 2026 and ends at 23:55 AET, 31st August, 2026 (Promotion Period).

2. To be eligible for this offer, Eligible Accounts must:

a. have a verified pay.com.au business account;

b. not have submitted a payment before 00:00 AET, 6 March 2026;

c. be offered to participate in this promotion by pay.com.au; and

d. have activated the offer during the Promotion Period via the link provided in the email, SMS, or in-platform notification.

3. Eligible Accounts will be eligible for Bonus PayRewards Points as follows:

a. Eligible Accounts that process between $10,000* and $49,999* in Eligible Payments will receive 5,000 Bonus PayRewards Points;

b. Eligible Accounts that process between $50,000* and $99,999* in Eligible Payments will receive 10,000 Bonus PayRewards Points;

c. Eligible Accounts that process between $100,000* and $499,999* in Eligible Payments will receive 20,000 Bonus PayRewards Points;

d. Eligible Accounts that process between $500,000* and $999,999* in Eligible Payments will receive 50,000 Bonus PayRewards Points; and

4. Eligible Payments are payments:

a. Processed by Eligible Accounts through the pay.com.au platform;

b. submitted within the Promotion Period;

c. successfully remitted within seven (7) days of the end of the Promotion Period; and

d. not subject to any refund, chargeback or other payment recall on or before the Bonus Points Issue Date.

5. Accounts that do not activate the offer during the Promotion Period will not be entitled to Bonus PayRewards Points.

6. Customers can only qualify once per Australian business registered as a pay.com.au account. Duplicate accounts will not qualify for this offer. Eligible Accounts can qualify for a maximum of 300,000 Bonus PayRewards Points under this Promotion per Australian business registered with pay.com.au account (the tiers of Bonus PayRewards Points do not accumulate).

7. Bonus PayRewards Points will be issued by 22nd September 2026 (Bonus Points Issue Date). pay.com.au reserves the right to cancel any Bonus PayRewards Points after the Bonus Points Issue Date if pay.com.au determines that the recipient has breached these terms and conditions, the pay.com.au platform terms and conditions, or the PayRewards terms and conditions.

8. Any claims in relation to this promotion must be made directly to pay.com.au via support@pay.com.au.

9. Customers are solely responsible for confirming their own BAS or other payment obligations, including payment deadlines, with the ATO.

10. This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers (except for the 2,000,000 PayRewards Points Prize Pool Competition, subject to eligibility).
